Good songs for looping?
I'm into music like rhcp, hendrix, radiohead, the black keys, bloc party etc
I'm just looking for a simple song to loop, with maybe one repeating bassline, then guitar layered over the top and suitable for improvising over. Any suggestions?

Isn't that like pretty much every blues backing track in existence?

Ok, let me get this straight. You want to improvise over a song you know, it should be a repeated loop and I have to guess the song and find it for you? Lol? Is it a game?

Pick any song from one of the artist mentioned? Lay down the track and improvised over it.
Or something like Dosed, with it's ten thousand layered guitar tracks.

I just don't get it. Why do I/we have to pick? What if I/we pick a song he hates. He knows the songs he likes. The Chillis are very bass dominant. Most stuff from them would work.
Give it away? I like it when people say 'I like these bands: Muse, Incubus, Tool etc' I always imagine the etc is Teletubbies, Bob The Builder, The Village People, ABBA, Aqua and Daphne & Celeste.

try..
Make It Wit Chu by Queens of the Stone Age. The rhythm section is the same throughout. I was looping this myself just last night. If you don't know it, it's not like most QOTSA tracks, it's slow and fairly mellow. |

![]() Seriously though, people need to be told when their requests are really unreasonable. There is almost no way anyone on this forum will be able to find an answer better than TS can himself. To be honest, I'm not even sure what "suitable for looping" means, if you ask me what he's looking for is pretty much the definition of a backing track.

That's all I meant. I don't know how I'm supposed to guess a song for him. It seems like a futile exercise in 'guess what I'm thinking about'. And even if I did guess the right song, is there a 4 bar section that is perfect to be looped? Just seems like a lot of effort for someone who may not agree with my choice.

That's a good picture I agree, if it's really unreasonable then say so. I happen to think it was a fairly reasonable question and asked politely. |

I like bands like the Stones, Pumpkins, Bjork etc. Find me a loop that encompasses something with those bands in that I can solo over. That's a complete wild goose chase, you need to find me something I'll like, find a perfect segment in a song and find what part to loop. That's what was asked and what you posted was just a guess. Only he knows really. That's the problem, you'll suggest something and he'll say, nah, until you get it. We have to guess based on his mood. I asked him if he wanted a backing track and he said no. If he would have said 'I like Hendrix, can you find me a backing track that I can solo to that's Hendrix like' then yea, we could find him blues rock backing tracks or better, a Red House instrumental. But he specifically asked for something that only he can find; a short loop that's like the bands he listed. Re read the original posts.
