Iconic Guitars & their Iconic Players
IMO the most Iconic guitar is EVH's FrankenStrat & 5150. When I see that guitar EVH is the only guitarist that I think of.
For me the second most iconic guitar is Jimmy Page's Red Gibson 1275 Doubleneck. When I see that guitar I immediately think of Page. Also when I see a Sunburst LP, I think of Page, although there are many others who played that guitar. Although there are several other guitars that IMO are iconic, I'll stop there for now.

Most iconic?
Clapton's Blackie

To you it is, and that's cool.
But the most popular guitar design is the Strat. Therefore, the Strat. Which Strat is the most iconic though? I would say Blackie or Hendrix's white Strat. I think it would be interesting to see what the guitar communities most iconic guitar is. Mine would be a Tele. First guitar design I ever loved, luckily they sound great too!

I agree but for the Tele. I associate the Rosewood fretboard Tele with Page also and IMO Page's Dragoncaster is the most Iconic Tele. I know BB stopped using 335s a long time ago but I think of him, Chuck Berry and Larry Carlton when I think of 335.

Clapton was Johnny-come-Lately to Strats. Hendrix is the player who pops in my mind when I think of the quintessential Strat Player.

BB never played a 335 extensively. He played Lucille, his custom guitar.
The Rosewood Tele is probably more associated with a Beatle.... Also when you post a thread, its customary for you to allow other people to post and not just spam it up yourself.

Most of the more obvious ones have already been named, but here's a few:
Alex Lifeson's white ES 355 Steve Morse's blue Music Man Steve Vai's EVO.

There you go again posting misinformation! The Lucille Signature was not produced until 1980! BB started playing professionally 40 years before the first Lucille was ever made. I bet you don't know what guitar BB first used on his recordings in the 50s either.

I couldn't care less. People associate him with Lucille. Not a 335. ......you are also aware he called 'any' guitar he was playing at any given time 'Lucille' after some girl he feel in love with at a gig he played. But hey iconic equals whatever guitar you remember people playing... Not the famous instruments they played.

I feel so stupid, how could've the Red Special not have entered my mind. Personally, I think that's as iconic of a guitar as any of the others mentioned in this thread.
