there's a new Herman Dune out that I didn't know about until tonight.

it's good. there are some classic Herman Dune jams on it, but then almost every other song is a short solo classical guitar piece. they're good, but I think it's totally weird.

overall, I liked it a bunch. I haven't listened to them in a while.

New Phoenix and Smith Westerns albums will hopefully be the highlight of my year, I'm going to be really bummed if either of those are sub par. Hopefully Yuck and Deerhunter release something. I'm looking forward to the new Kurt Vile too. Foxygen and Parquet Courts have both already released albums that I'd say are pretty good

New How to destroy angels_ album is cool so far. Definitely better than the EP from last year.

Edit: But it gets wayyy overlong near the end. New Doldrums album is good though.

I liked it a bunch, but I also had never even heard of Grouper before that. I also had no idea it was a b-sides collection until right now.

I listened to Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill at Alex's suggestion, and I liked that one way more, I think. but still, if the new one was good enough to convince a completely new fan, somebody who actually liked her before would probably be into it. if anything, I'd say the new one is "less accessible," as they say.

There's a lot of hype for him outside of the Netherlands apparently, which is weird.

Might have to listen what the buzz is all about, but I'm not too fond of retro-music.


Joy Formidable's new album is hit and miss. Like some songs a lot while others leave me cold.

Didn't really care for the Grouper album. Maybe because I was confusing it with Grouplove and expected something really different, but still.

I'll check out the Thom Yorke thingy now.

There won't be another Postal Service album. And the new Fall Out Boy song is awful, and I doubt the rest of the album will be much better, which is a shame.

Theres a lot of rave reviews coming from Bowies album..

Anybody like the new Beach Fossils album? In my opinion its slightly better than the average landfill indie album but theres nothing reaaally special about it, nomsayn?

As for other albums: AMOK had a couple of good tracks but after a while...meh. Seemed a little emotionless, like beats were just selected out of curiosity and it felt like just playing around on a computer (which Im sure it is). I am not too big on Iceage either, but who knows, more listens may change that. Anyone got any must-check albums for february?

Bowie album is streaming on iTunes. I've never been a big Bowie fan, and my knowledge of his career is limited, but I'm really digging it so far.

I've been meaning to listen to the Beach Fossils album but I keep forgetting.

If you haven't heard Doldrums' debut album Lesser Evil yet, you should get on that. I really liked it.
