I've heard so much shit said about "scene kids" and "emos" both on the internet and real life, that I decided that this forum might be the right place for a civil discussion on this subject.



Do I have this right about the definition of a scene kid versus an emo?

And compared to fashion trends?



I think I was confusing scene fashion with scene kid, which I think are two different things.
Well so I wasted time writing some defintions these are the differences of scene fashion versus scene kid in my opinion and compare to emos and emo fashion (I don't think that BB codes work in Facebook, so you will have to click on the url for every url in an image tag if you want to see the image):

I think "emo" can refer to either a fashion or a personality of a person.
I think "scene" can refer to either a fashion or a personality of a person.
I think that calling some one "an emo" implies the personality definition, ACCORDING TO THE INDIVIDUAL DOING THE NAME CALLING.
I think telling some one that they "look emo" implies the fashion definition, ACCORDING TO THE INDIVIDUAL DOING THE NAME CALLING.
I think if some one actually calls themself "emo", then that implies the personality definition.
I think that calling some one "a scene kid" implies the personality definition, ACCORDING TO THE INDIVIDUAL DOING THE NAME CALLING.
I think that telling some one that they "look scene" implies the fashion definition, ACCORDING TO THE INDIVIDUAL DOING THE NAME CALLING.
I think if some one actually calls themself "a scene kid", then that implies the personality definition.
Of course they will almost never call themselves these words and will say "I'm just myself". Its just denial I think, if enough people think that the personality of this individual is emo or scene. Majority rules. People tend to be in denial often. Just look how much in denial politicians are.

An emo person: An individual who is overly EMOtional and has hours long conversations every night often on Skype with other overly emotional individuals. Also is selfish and uploads a photo of himself or herself every time logged on to Facebook and they seem to only have how they look going for them and not much else and all they seem to care about is how they look. Has to have an Instagram and a Tumbler for more selfishness. Has to have a Skype account for talking to other emos. Often doesn't have a job and is on internet most of life. Tends to create an alternate universe surrounding themselves to hide from his or her fears about the outside world and all friends tend to be ideolouges who do everything the same.

Scene kids are into the scene and not the music.

It's really that simple. They don't give a crap about the music and just want to be trendy.


Technically even modern hipsters are scene kids. I think TS is a scene kid because he seem to get all worked up about defining things... instead of just enjoying the music.

Hell I listen to "scene kid" music, but no fuqs given really.
