Are My Ibanez fake.......?????????????

Hi Guys , Ibanez newbie with 2 guitars from my brother who's emigrating , I'm getting married in June and am gonna sell them to pay for the wedding.

1 Green , I think it says Jem Jr and 1 white that says Jem.

Pics are posted below.

If that doesn't work , email me and I'll send them on.

Any help at all lads would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hm. The white one's tremolo looks weird. And I can't find info on the green one....

Did a serial check on the green one's serial number, and it checked out, but I can't find anything on green JEM JRs, let alone JEMs with those inlays.

Look at the tremolo claw cavity on both guitars
Also, the trems dont look like they were meant for the cavities on both guitars

Also I don't recall any edge tremolo variant having
licensed Under Floyd Rosd Pats.
(Yes, from what I see I see Rosd)

Finally I don't ever recall any Ibanez Edges having "Ibanez" engraved (Green guitar)

Also, the screws on 7v the control cavity are off... a lot
Pic #11 only 4 screws (?) and holes are cut very badly, and are not parallel

Gold frets (?) Might be wrong

Sorry to say it, both are likely faked

The fake ones usually have one less pickguard screw as I remember

What if this fake has one more screw than the other fakes?

Seems silly to make it so obvious that you can identify a defect so easily on something that's meant to pass as real.

Wrong bridge. Tremolo cavity is MASSIVE...someone got carried away with the power tools.

Pickguard is slightly different in shape.

The handle/grip/whateveryou call it is too close to the pick guard.

Too many screws/Not enough screws/Screws aren't exactly where they should be...easily noticeable around the pickup selector switch and the truss rod cover.

I'm sure there's more. The headstock is probably a slightly different shape.

Definitely a fake.

They are both fake. I know for sure because I was considering buying a fake JEM a year ago and now can distinguish a fake from the real thing with ease.

I'm not an ibanez kinda guy but those definitely don't like right even to me I'm afraid. As lemurflames mentioned the trem cavities are huge and on the green one really uneven as well.

I really hope you didn't pay a lot for them, or your brother didn't pay much for them, whatever.
Jemsite has all the info you need on JEMs, look there for differences between real ones and fake ones, to save your wallet some pain and heartache

terribleguitar, why would you buy a fake JEM?

For probably the same reason people buy a fake anything. They want the look without the price tag.

Sometimes the quality of fakes aren't bad either. This, doesn't seem to be the case though. The trem cavity looks horrendous.
