I'll be finished with uni in 2.5 years.

My whole life I've always had long term plans. Go from A to B, from B to C, wait a couple years until D becomes available and then do D, then go from D to E, etc, etc

At the moment I got no plans for then. I'll join the workforce, and then what? Just gather money.

I'll lose touch with friends in uni, and make friends at work. Then what?

What, am I supposed to find a girl and make babies, get a mortgage? Stay with the rents and just gather enough cash until you can buy your own house? Take a year out?

I suppose I've realized that, outside of finishing uni, I have no other goals.

Learn a language? I know 4.
Move to a different country? I've lived in 4 different ones.
Material possessions bore me.
Learn to play an instrument? lol

And the ironic thing is, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things when you consider that we're tiny in a huge universe.

tl;dr People who graduated uni, what did you do with your life afterwards?

I mean, you can just carry on the A-B mindset into the workforce. I would, the world's fecking scary if you don't have a plan and feel as if you're always progressing somewhere.

Graduated in November. I have a part-time job, not have a full-time graduate job (I've only applied for one graduate position but got knocked back). I really have no ambition.

I just want to do something that will give me the kind of feeling that I got when I started learning songs on guitar by ear. **** everything else.

I moved home. Got a job. Got a mortgage and moved in with my girlfriend.

I am currently decorating our house, planning and saving for trips to various places (I have Berlin booked, saving towards New York in 2 years time and will do something else in between), saving for a new car (I am a car fanatic).

There is a lot you can do in this world. Graduation is the beginning of your learning curve.

I wandered for ages before I found my way. It's not the worst thing if you do too, in fact it's probably better if people chill after uni and drift from job to job for a year or two and find out their path.

In any case, you'll still be UGs principle thread starter so that's a comfort for all of us, at least!
