Practice Amp
Alright I live in a college dorm and own a Deluxe Reverb and while I love it, I cannot really play it above 3 volume and it's very bright. I want an amp around ~$100 for practicing and would use it for everything from Blues, think Hendrix's Red House, to Classic Rock (ACDC) to Modern Rock.

Shit I can't choose between those 3. I need a warmer tone than this Deluxe Reverb but I think they all satisfy that.

It's funny cause the Vypyr probably does clean and crunch better than either. More importantly 30W Vypyr has a 12" speaker. You won't get that with any of the other usual suspects for $100.

Listen to them on Youtube - form your own opinions. Obviously I'm a huge fan of the Vypyr and I'll say that - others obviously have their own opinions.
I will say again though that all else aside, having a 12" speaker is pretty important for proper bass response, and not getting a tinny, nasty sound. The Vypyr 30 is available for $100 used (check Guitar Center's used section), and it's most likely the best amp with a 12" speaker you can afford.

The Vypyr seemed awesome and I liked the 6505 setting. The Fender seems sweet, and the Vox and I have some history and it seems like it would have the warmest tone but idk.

If you just want a practice amp with a good tone and are restricted to playing at college dorm room levels (slightly louder than what is allowed in a library), maybe you should just get a Pignose? They sound good and if you crank one, it is surprisingly loud, but it is meant to be played at dorm room levels.

Well I can be a bit loud until 10 PM. But not a bad idea.

I have a Vox Mini3 modeling amp. I wouldn't know about a Deluxe Reverb, but as practice amps go, this is really good, in my opinion. Of course, it's best to check all suggestions out, and then go to a local guitar store and try them out. |

Well I like the Vypyr but I've heard they have reliability issues and their cleans and low gain aren't good.

I was going to recomend you the Yamaha THR 5 or THR 10, but it is way off your budget.
Still, it's is the best practice amp I've played to this day.

It's funny because the Vypyr's clean and low gain tones sound like crap. I would suggest a Vox VT for the tones the TS is looking for before I'd suggest a Vypyr. Also, who said anything about a 12" speaker? In low wattage practice amps 10" speakers sound every bit as good as a 12".

Vox Valvetronix or Peavey Vypyr, I think they will both do the job just as well and anything that makes one 'better' is a personal preference for one sound, rather than the other actually being bad. With the Vypyr get the 30, the 15 has a kinda meh 8" speaker that really just doesn't do the actual amp justice. I only have experience with the VT40+ Valvetronix so I can't comment on whether a specific one sounds better or worse than the others.
