don't listen to these idiots. take out the fan, it doesn't do anything but hinder your tone. contrary to popular belief, the MG100 is actually a great sounding amp once you tweak it. marshall had the clever idea of installing a superfluous tone sucking fan so that those in the know could have staggeringly amazing tone once they knew the secret, and taunt the ignorant losers with shit tone.

tldr: remove fan because toan.

If it's really that loud that it's a problem, get another (quieter) fan and replace it. Manufacturers don't spend the money on putting in fans if they don't think they'll need it.

remove the fan and replace it with a military grade explosive.

either leave it in your house and set it off, or take it somewhere else and set it off.

buy a new amp on your way home, or on your way to the shelter if you decided to set it off in your house.

Right now I'm running the most pleasent settings I could dial:

Clean :
5 gain
10 bass
8 mids
5 treb

Dirty:
OD1
2 gain
6 bass
7 mids
4 treb
2.5 contour
7 volume

The best setting for anything MG is into the garbage can.

well in all fairness, I have seen a couple bands that sounded good (for their style of music) using MG's.

I was playing a gig probably 5-6 yrs ago and I steped on my guitar cable, it riped the input jack out of the amp. The other band went and grabed his MG so I could get through the show. It was the worst I bet I have ever sounded at a show. That 1 time of having to make due with one I swore I'd never get or use a MG ever again.......I'd rather play acoustic

I'd cut the volume way lower and use much less treble. Boost the bass somewhat, not too much. Not sure what contour is
