Ian Watkins of Lostprophets charged with child sex offences

The lead singer of Welsh rock group Lostprophets has been charged with sexual offences against children. Ian Watkins, 35, of Pontypridd, will appear before Cardiff magistrates on Wednesday. He is charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children. Two women, aged 20 and 24, from Doncaster and Bedford, have been charged with similar offences.

Didn't really know who they were, so checked Wiki. First sentence: "Lostprophets ( /lɒstˈprɒfɪts/) are a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd, formed in 1997. Founded by vocalist & recently outed dirty paedophile [1] Ian Watkins,"

Honestly, the real news to me is that there's a place called Pontypridd. The UK will never cease to amaze me with its utterly gay sounding take on the English language.

Genuine name of a village in Wales.

I spent a year in a place called Aberystwyth, and the dual language signs confused me. The Welsh for town is "Dre" apparently, so I was convinced there was some sort of rap based theme park nearby, becasue I kept seeing signs that said "Dre Town" on them.
