That thing is fugly beyond belief. Original Vypyrs were gaudy with all those leds, but this thing just burns my eyes.

At least this doesn't have fangs.
Other than that, ugly. I wonder what's been added. |

hey guys, found an article on Peaveys website about the amp, along with some new details. Discuss and or enjoy. http://www.peavey.com/news/article....t/1/article.cfm

When I first read the article, it seemed like they were just trying to make a large version of a Yamaha THR. Now, I think this is going to be pretty interesting. It depends on how it sounds, and how much it costs, but I would be considering picking one of these up for a practice amp if I didn't already have a Mustang 1.

From the article, it sounds like a cool modelling amp to own, especially allowing you to do bass with your electric. Might grab a little 20 watt one just to record with.
I'm also glad they decided to keep the Sanpera. |

I saw it in person and it looks much nicer. I was not able to play it today, planning it tomorrow.
The peavey rep was saying will do bass, acoustic, guitar. All have USB interface. All have a ported back.

Agreed about picking one up for recording. Seems like It might be a great amp. Anybody seen details on if the electric amp models are the same as the Vypyr or if they put some new amps In?

Because people who buy Vypyr amps get them to play acoustic guitars.

I actuallyran my acoustic through my Vypyr several times to experiment with effects on music I have written. Never at show levels or anything though.

So this is the first amp that you can play from an acoustic, electric and bass? How is this innovative? They just added some extra models (more is better)? The main reasons I didn't buy a vypyr were the limitations in how you could handle effects, both number (1 pre, 1 post + delay, reverb & wah) plus selection, and the fact that there was no presence control. Have those changed? If not, any reason for someone with a vypyr to upgrade to a new one?

If I understood correctly this is a first amp that can turn your guitar to sound like a bass guitar. Bah, baritone tuning is for wussies, lets all play an octave or two down. ![]()

I didn't understand it that way at all. As I understood it, it can function as a guitar amp, bass amp or an acoustic amp, 3 very different things. It's a good concept if they can pull it off, which remains to be seen. Or....I could be dead wrong and your interpretation is correct?

I had the same interpretation, that It could be used for multiple instruments. Baritone tuning would be cool though.
