It's not like saying that at all. Rammstein are a world reknowned band that tour the world. They know and are to an extent respected by their peers. They are industry veterans in real life.

Quite abit different from having a Soundcloud account

It's about time to realize you are not the authority and cannot dictate someone elses (in this case a high misunderstood and somewhat opressed group of people with not much else to get by with) culture. It's all but ruined through this line of thinking by outsiders. Worst yet, these same people don't even really support hip-hop, they are told what is "real hip-hop" (90s) and don't support NEW "real artists" unless they are white or they know them (nobody internet rappers). They all love Sage Francis which is bizarre but then again he is the white outcast they identify with in this case. It's ok, I know what you're going to say so don't bother typing how someone elses culture is for everybody, just buy the cds and accept what it is.

Mr Lif wont be remembered in 50 years time and Gangstarr arn't so modern.

Rap is music. I don't see how anyone can claim it isn't.

Well, the melodic content on rap is low. And the lyrical content is low too.

Typical rap lyrics:

Yo, Yo, Yo ma man! Yo, Yo brother from another mother, yo yo yo!
Yo, Yo

Are you trolling?

Is melodic content required for something to be considered music? Is lyrical content required for something to be music?

"HEY! I don't like a genre, so instead of leaving it be, I'll claim it isn't music and display my ignorance of the genre and music itself!"

Not sure if serious or just trolling...

Cause you ought to take a listen to A Tribe Called Quest or Common if that's what you think.
show

Local H too.

Local H do that. Especially their latest album.

if that's all you think it is then you really haven't even scratched the surface of the genre. go try to dig a little deeper instead of making stupid generalizations.

You're the one that's making generalisations. Your generalising that hip hop/rap isn't just YO YO YO YO BROTHER etc...

I tried to make it obvious in the OP that hip hop is not all about getting bitches and yo yo yo nigga shit.

"actions have reactions don't be quick to judge you may not know the hard ships people dont speak of" - from the 2nd vid I posted in the OP

you cant tell me that is meaningless. you are a complete imbecile if you think that is meaningless.

Also listen to:

Entertaining to listen to, he was the jimi hendrix of making beats. He blew every ones mind and single handedly established many, many of todays most respected hip hop artists careers.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone in this thread to everyone who understands rap...

some people just dont get it lol

EDIT: Id like to challenge poisonous nipples to a beat battle since he thinks I suck or something and put all my beats on soundcloud.... WRONG bandcamp lets see what YOU got before you bring some one else's hobbies down

EDIT2: I believe this song is about the fall of Detroit, a once prosperous city that has since fallen.... its got kick ass jams in it too.

basically about a guy and a girl from detroit who love each other, but the only way they can be together is if the man leaves the state to find a job that can support there love

I can't tell if this is a "white guys talk about rap" thread or a "the only important aspect in music is politics" thread, or a "post videos of your favourite music" thread.

Someone tell me.
