Guitar for around £750-1000
Hi all,
I'm planning on getting a new guitar from 750-1000 pounds. I play hard rock/metal and a bit of blues and I need a guitar that suits these areas. I'm currently playing a Gibson sg standard through an orange dark terror head and matching cab. I'm mainly looking for somthing with a Floyd rose , as the sg lacks in that department. Thanks. Ps: sorry for another thread like this |

Check out a higher-end Schecter (the passive pickups models). The neck resembles a gibson one so you should like it.

Provided that you have no problem using a guitar with active pickups, it might be worth looking at some of the schecter guitars around that budget, something like the C1 hellraiser has EMGs and a floyd, but there are plenty of jackson, ESP and deans that will have similar features aswell

He wants to play blues from time to time and you suggest something with EMG's? Although it is a great guitar. |

Check out Fernandes and Reverend guitars. Both companies offer nice options in your price range.

provided you only need a tremolo, not divebombs, a fender strat or jaguar/jazzmaster might be your best bet.

EMGs do not mean you can't play blues.

Seriously. EMG doesn't mean they're gonna be full hard on distortion all the time. Hell, active pickups can do nice cleans as well. It's all preference, really. ![]()

Godin's Freeway SA is a very well made HSH axe. The LGXT has 2 HBs and synth access. Their Velocity is a HSS guitar that was discontinued, but is still available. Check them out.

Playing an acoustic does not mean you can't play metal, but there's a reason electric guitars are used. Same story with EMG's, just because you can does not mean it'll sound nearly as good as with decent passive pickups. |

Those are quite different than the 81/85 set which are on the guitar that was suggested and what I was reffering to. He does have great tone. |
