Hey guys,
Thanks to all who helped in my last thread, however i have a new query,

I am looking at a Fernandes guitar, the seller claims it "Could" be a revolver but doesnt know exactly what model it is, he has provided a serial number which hasnt helped much, .. well at all really.

so, here i am begging you guys to dig me out again

the first thing i noticed from pictures is that from what i can see there is no truss rod cover, i understand that not all guitars have them but seeing 1000's of images of Fernandes guitars im yet to see another without one.

i only seem to tell you to register on other forums, lol, but i think the tokai registry forum has a fernandes subforum. those guys know a lot about japanese guitars. japanaxe might have a fernandes subforum, too.

Well if we assume for a moment it is genuine it would be the Revolver X which is their entry level model. The Pro and Elite are both set neck you see. I don't see quite why somebody would go out of their way to forge a cheap guitar... to make it cheaper?? It could be a very old model that had the truss rod adjustment at the heel?
But yeah. I'd say Revolver X :-)

I thought the same thing, .... untill, .....

I just checked over at both suggested forums and found out that not all Fernandes guitars have the truss rod adjust at the headstock, in fact quite a few have the truss rod adjust at the heel instead and those that do have the adjust at the heel do not have truss rod covers (makes sense i guess)

Also to back that up, i stumbled across the Fernandes Owners Manual (bit of luck) and in there is mentioned that the truss rod is either located at the headstock OR recessed into the body end of the guitar.

now, ... this has not brought me any closer to identifying the exact model yet, but it settled a niggling thought in the back of my mind that was making me ask myself if it was genuine of not.

hopefully someone over there will be able to identify the model

Yes i cant see why somebody would either, unless of course they broke the original neck and desperate to sell,

And also yes, i too was leaning towards the Revolver X model but all the images i could dig up all had truss rod covers, but as you mention it could well be an older model.

out of interest how much would one of these Revolver X models go for at an average ?
as you mention it being a cheaper model

Sorry, I wasn't specific- I have never seen a Revolver without a truss rod cover. (But again, not an expert.)
