Meeting new people to jam with, SO nervous :(
Hello everyone,
After a long time searching for other musicians to jam with (hopefully leading to a band) I finally hit gold last week when I replied to an ad online. All week long I have been looking forward to it (it's tomorrow), however today the nerves have REALLY got to me, I feel a bit sick when I think about it. The main issue is that the two people I am meeting, a bassist and a drummer, already know each other. We have exchanged texts and they seem like decent people. We will be meeting at a rehearsal studio, I have never been to a proper rehearsal studio! I am usually a confident and outgoing person, I just think it's the fact that it's been so long since I last played with others. Can you guys give me any advice? Perhaps you have your own stories that'll calm me down a bit... Appreciate it ![]()

Be yourself. Just play some standard stuff and let them join in. Smile a lot. Don't piss about too much. Don't drink or do drugs beforehand. KEEP CALM and carry on.

Thank you slayer, the having fun part is what I want most! I think I just have to keep telling myself before hand 'have fun' and perhaps it'll sink in.
@avilan, I'm in London, no tacos here lol

As much as I hate that phrase it's entirely relevant lol. I think the hardest part will be the beginning and trying to figure them out.

Don't worry about it being at a rehearsal studio, had some of my best times at those places, def don't let it intimidate you.

Thank you so much guys for the words, genuinely helped
![]() As for arranging what we are playing, we are just jamming, the bassist wanted a funk based guitarist and that is exactly what I am so i'll start with that and take it from there.
