i wear a decent shirt/tie/pants for work becuase we have an uppity dress code, but outside of that im what the majority of people would call "crusty".

All my clothes are old, ripped, stained, patched with floss, or dirt cheap. I dont need new ones yet so I dont buy em

edit: an example of my high fashion

Same shirt, but I wear the one on the right

I dress cheap but decently. Skinny jeans, Converse, t-shirt, and in cold weather either a thermal under a t-shirt, a hoodie or jacket, or lately, my new favorite long sleeve thing, which largely has the visual aspect of a knit sweater but is also a zip-up hoodie thing. I like my style.

I have a coat that cost $130. I have a pair of boots that cost $120.

Nothing else I buy costs more than about $40-50 generally.

I have a few sports jerseys that were expensive as well.

I've a few SuperDry shirts for when I'm feeling swanky that set me back around £60 each.

I've got a leather jacket that cost me £250 as well, but that's well worth it, as I've had it for 4 or 5 years now, and it's still in fine condition, and will last me at least the same again.

Generally it's decent jeans and a tshirt though - usually picked up in sales or from places like TK Maxx. You can be thrifty and still look good.

Certain things are worth spending more money on. My expensive boots are the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned, and they've been very durable so far. You definitely get what you pay for with some items.

Honestly a lot of the jackets I have were old ones that were too big for me back in my first two years of high school, but end up fitting well five years later xD I've bought some ok looking cheap jackets before and they are not at all durable.. rips in stitching and shit after a while

Yeah definitely with most shoes.

Exception: I bought a pair of expensive-looking shoes from Forever 21 for $6. totally expected them to fall apart after a few weeks (especially considering that they're made of cloth, and I don't exactly take care of my belongings, and given the general quality of things from Forever 21)

but nope! they still look brand new and I've had them for 3 years c:

This thread reminds me why I hate kids who think that spending their parent's money on nice clothes makes them all swagged out. You could actually be saving your money and making worth while savings by actually putting effort into finding new brand name clothes at the thrift store.

ps. I hate you all

omg people with money spending it on things they want! scandalous!

U mad bro?

Some people spend money on music, some on video games, some on clothes, etc. Why do you care what they spend their money on? Assuming they aren't going into debt just to buy clothing, I don't see the problem.

Good luck finding actual good brand names at a thrift store. It's really not worth an hour of sorting through garbage in hopes you find something half decent, which I never have. But yeah, I work and buy my own clothing with my own money. A few hundred dollars on clothing really isn't much for me since I don't go buying a bunch of new shit every week. I don't have anything to save for but a car, which I'll be able to afford easily, so whatever.

Also Converse are gross. Especially high tops.

I shop around the local thrift stores from time to time, but it's rare that I find anything that was originally an expensive piece of clothing.

I don't like thrift stores cuz the idea of wearing strangers' clothes freaks me out and I don't care if they get washed first.

You just suck and don't know where to find stuff then.
I find stuff with the tags still on them at the places around my house, Name brand.
Takes like 30 minutes to go to 4 thrift stores around my area.

Plus, I've made a killing buying videogame stuff and music equipment while looking for clothes.
