Gear you have, probably don't need, but ...........

Was just thinking about all the stuff I have accumulated, rarely use, but can't seem to part with.

8 guitars, 4 amps, 2 cabs, 10 pedals and enough parts to build 3 or 4 more of each.

Always thought of myself as kind of a minimalist but I could be wrong.
Would love to start a discussion about what we have and why.
What we like and don't like about it.
Things we used to have and glad we got rid or wish we still had.
Maybe this could even turn into a gear chat type of thread.

Will be happy to share more personally when I find the thread won't be closed
'cause it's not about taint, oxy or deathcore.

Any thoughts or go F myself?

That doesn't sound too bad.

I have 2 acoustics that are almost identical, I bought the second one because I could.

4 amps 2 cabs. 6 guitars.
only thing i keep to a minimum is pedals. overdrive noise gate. reverb.

but in this line of buisiness/hobby... less is not better... the more you have at the ready the more tonally ready you are

Had a Guild D-55 that I got rid of 'cause I thought I was too cool to play an acoustic anymore.

there seems to be some critical amount of gear accumulation before 'rarely used gear' becomes inevitable.

my big one? Leslie Model 16. i like the cabinet, i like the sound... but i have hardly used it. i have had it for like 3 or 4 years and played it less than a dozen times probably.

why did i buy it? i was fascinated with with leslie products for a while. i found a model of cabinet made for guitar use and bought it.

why do i still have it? can't really tell you, it does look cool but i think the inconvenience of selling plus the fact i probably won't break even on selling it are big factors.

An Edwards Alexi V

I used to use it a lot, but a V is a heavy guitar... and I only really used it to play classical music... and only at friends' weddings.
It was real neat to be able to break out a mean looking pointy V that's black and pink... just to see the looks on guests faces initially, and then the confusion when I only used it for a classical song.

Now, I hardly even use it for practice. It was a neat purchase back then. Just not used now.

Also the following:
Wampler Clean Buffer - Didn't like the mid-range hump it had.
Love Pedal Kanji 9 - Noisy as hell
EQD Rainbow Machine - I can't figure out how to use the pedal at all. A neat noise maker, but little beyond that.

5 guitars, three amps, a cab, a wah, delay, distortion and compression. Need to get rid of 3 of the guitars, one amp and the delay and distortion [don't really use delay and already have BOSS ODs/dists built in the wah].

I don't have anything I don't need. I sell stuff I don't use.

Although I do have a broken vintage 1960's aria diamond wau-fuzz sat in a drawer. Been meaning to fix that for about 3 years.

I have 3 electrics, but I only use one regularly. However, they are quite different instruments, so I feel it's worth keeping them all.

I have a strat, an epiphone dot studio - which I'm thinking about tuning to an open tuning or something, and a vintage fenton weils guitar that I just inherited

I have two amps and one cab, so I need another cab >.>

Than there are 2 twelve strings - one fantastic one, and a fender which is nice, but the neck is bowed.

Than there's my steel string, nylon and bass which all get fairly regular use

Don't get me started about effects though, I have a fair few pedals that I don't use.

The rest of the instruments that were in the house are gone now my bros have moved out, so I actually feel like I might have to buy some more guitars >.> Mainly a new nylon and a 5 string bass, as well as maybe an electric for heavier styles.

Not that I really need any more instruments, but they would be nice...

i havent acquired too much, a few instruments here and there. ive got an old martin acoustic my dad gave me as my first guitar many a year ago. he has two basses that i play around with once in a while too.

as far as my own stuff i have a cheap strat knock off that i wanna try modding a bit this summer. got a decent bc rich warlock, one of their cheaper models but it still plays quite well. only have one pedal that does pretty much everything for me, yamaha magicstomp. i never got into effects pedals really because i could make most sounds i wanted on that pedal.

as far as amps, i have a small 10watt that i learned to play on, and a 60watt marshall that i use now. my dad has a huge 400watt peavy but we rarely use it haha.

lastly my drum kit, where most of my money goes. expensive hobby but so, so worth it. i just have to find a way to transport it 2000kms next year

I have a killer JBL 2x12 sitting idle. I recently got two really nice 1x12s with the same speakers so the 2x12 is wholly unnecessary. It's really cool looking, though, so I haven't made any real effort to sell it. I guess I should....

Edit: After some serious mulling it over, I put it in the classifieds. Anyone want the killer 2x12?

I have 8 electrics and 2 acoustics and keep them in a vast array of tunings (essential...obviously).

I have one solid state and one full valve amp.

I think I have about 7 pedals but I do have 2 distortion pedals which might be a bit overkill considering that I'm buying another soon.

It's all too much as I have a tiny room but at least it looks cool!

I've got an old epiphone sg, currently in half, just sitting in my closet at home. I've dissected it a couple of times for parts on other guitars so I guess it's still useful even in pieces. I've got crybaby with no inductor just sitting and mocking me in my gear rack at home also. I use everything else on a daily basis so there's not much waste elsewhere.

I'm mostly a bass player but I got two electrics, one acoustic, and three basses. for amps I got a 16watt practice amp. a vintage vagabond head and cab but the speakers blew in that so its pretty much sitting idle due to me being poor. For my bass amp I got a line 6 lowdown 175. I got quite a bit of pedals 4 being distortion, one flange and a pocket pod.
