JJ Abrams.. I might just have to watch it now..
he directed Mission impossible 3, and mission impossible: ghost protocol..
so SW7 may actually be decent.

Given the chance, I would take the life of everyone involved in the making of this film.

I don't get all the negativity. Just because Lucas couldn't make another good trilogy apparently means nobody else can accomplish it either?

Maybe so, but I'm certainly right in this case.

star wars is riddled with plot holes, it's the same tired morality play that has been exhausted since the year dot, the emotional development of some characters is either laughable or absent. Its moral message is very simplistic, as evidenced by a tiresome, childish model of moral dualism, leaving very little room for any sort of nuance.

I have a solution to all of your problems.

Don't watch it.

Holy shit, I'm a genius.

But anyway, as I said before when he was suggested as being possibly the director--Star Trek and Star Wars are on completely different planes. They couldn't be any more different from each other... I really hope that his involvement won't rob the soul out of the franchise like he did with Star Trek. Star Trek had its own feels in the TV shows and movies, but with the reboot that was so gone. I don't know if I can deal with it happening again--I just hope that there's still involvement in its development from some of the same people as the other films. At least get John Williams on board for the music, yeah?

I don't know what the hell ya'll are talking about... You're crazy.

Star trek was a great reboot. Breaking bad is one the best shows to date in the last 10 years.

But I don't want him to direct it, he should stick with Star Trek, he's very much a student of Steven Spielberg, you can see the very similar direction in Super 8 (Which was great). I would rather someone else take a shot at the Star wars movies.

Tbh I can assure you he wont do it. He's not dumb enough to take on both iconic series at the same time and would drop one to do the other. It's a lot harder to make a good star wars movie than one might think. Just ask Lucas...

Literally every criticism here could be applied to the Bible, yet I'd still hold it up as a very nice piece of literature.

John Williams' output in recent years has slowed considerably, but I hope he would score at least the first of these new Star Wars films.

Although as I said earlier, if Williams turned it down, Michael Giacchino should do it, as he has a very similar style to Williams (check out the score to John Carter for his attempt at old-school sci-fi). He's pretty much JJ Abrams' go-to guy for music, too.

Surely a student from Spielberg could bring SW back to the golden age? At least production wise.

I do too. At this point, it's more up to the writers than the director, I'd say. By which I mean, I thought JJ did good with "Star Trek" and will do good with "Episode VII".

There's going to be so much lens flare it's going to hurt.

Lost was stupid, Breaking Bad is slightly passable.

I'm not looking forward to this.
