Best floor monitor for units like pod hd, axe fx etc.
Hi! Hi, i have figured out that using my krk rokit studio monitors with my pod hd500 is just complicated, cause i have my pc in, they are not so powerful, they come from 2 places, so it dosent feel like an amp. I have been thinking about getting a floor monitor for my hd500. So from the xlr out it would be: Right xlr: floor monitor Left xlr: audio interface. This means that it feels more like an amp, and i can use the floor monitor to monitor myself while recording, just like a miced amp would feel. I just wonder, will this work? If you have units like the axe fx, would it still work? If yes, what floor monitor around 300$ (if thats enough money), would you reccomend? I assume all of them are full range flat response.

This is what you want, it is a 60 watt powered FRFR (full range/flat response) amp w/o a preamp, so you can go with your unit into this and enjoy all the preamp/poweramp goodness of your HD500. Its going to be tough to get a FRFR monitor of reasonable quality and power for $300. Most people who are happy with that particular configuration use QSC 10 or 12" powered monitors and you're talking $600-800 for one of those.

I was talking more about a floor monitor used on stage for example.

This is what you want. Loud as hell and sounds GREAT for the price. I have two of the TS112As, which are the vertical versions of this, and they sound great with the Axe-FX II and Kemper. Honestly, nothing even comes close at the price point they are, not even at twice the price.

For cheap and functional look at a Behringer B212D powered speaker. No where near the advertised 550 watts (I would say more around 150 watts), but low cost and surprisingly sturdy.
They are also not that bad sounding and you just lay them on their sides for use as wedges making sure that you put them so the plugs aren't hitting the floor. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/B212D.aspx Not sure what prices are in your location but here they are $300 each brand new.
