Hello,

I'm thinking about trading my Schecter C-7 Hellraiser for this guitar and I have no way to try it out before I do so. Would this be a fair trade and does anybody have any experience with this guitar? How does it play, what shape is the neck? Anything at all is helpful

damn that guitar is beauitiful. my only issue is that would only having a single pickup suit your needs?

i think if its a true ESP (and it is), it would beat out any schecter i have ever played.

I play in a death metal band through a 6505 head so for most of my applications its spot on. I dabble in some bluesy and some rock/indie rock stuff at home and for that I'm in the market for a strat anyway. I've had an RR24 so it's not all too unfammiliar seems like a freaking sweet guitar!

I haven't seen an SV like this before but it should have the "Thin U Neck Contour". Be advised, though that this neck contour falls into two different categories. One that is uniformly rounded toward the body, another is getting more shoulders and squared/flattens off toward the body. Since this is a neck-thu i think it is quite rounded uniformly. Best to ask the seller about this if you not sure.

This guitar no doubt belongs to the high-end segment. Quality and craftsmanship will be top-notch as all of ESP Standards. The only thing with this is the single pickup. You can mod the guitar with a push-pull knob to widen the sound just a little bit more but that's it.

I dont have a problem with the u-neck I think. I have an ltd ex-400 and that has an u neck and it's sweet as shit

Me neither at first. Then I got my Viper-1000 it surprised me with the non-uniform neck shape. Same neck profile but different. I prefer the profile of my Eclipse and H-1001 so much more.

Seriously though, it's an ESP; at the very worst, you do the trade, and if you dislike it for whatever reason, you can sell it for a profit, buy another Schecter and repeat, or buy whichever other guitar you want.

I highly doubt that he will be able to resell this guitar for any profit at all. To buy a guitar is easy. To sell it can be a lot of works.

If he's agreed for a direct trade then by all mean go for it but I think he will demand some cash in between. The SV is worth around SEK8500 at the minimum and it would be quite unwise of him not to do so.

Will you trade it face to face or via postal service? Might want to be careful if it comes to posting it off.

So far no talk about money inbetween and I don't even have a hardcase for mine. We are shipping it by buss I think. What's a good way to be cautious when dealing that way?

Honestly, despite being a bit of a Schecter fanboy I'd say you're getting the better bargain out of this deal. I may be mistaken, but I believe the SV series is still relatively hard to come by these days, aren't they sold primarily in Japan and that side of the world?

You can definitely expect high quality, it's really a matter of specifications. Having just one pick-up can be either a detriment or incredibly useful depending on what you play, but it sounds like this is right in line with what you're looking for so I say go for it, seems like you're getting a better guitar out of the deal.

I dunno man... I think the depreciation on ESPs aren't that great. They cost a lot new, but they don't tend to make that money back on the used market. A guy on these forums recently got an ESP bass that was about 5 or 6 years old or something for £400.

Yes, that is true... ESP prices are much lower and Schecter prices are much higher in the UK/EU, right?

I think my point still stands though... it's a ****in' ESP for a Schecter.



As I said above, the money doesn't even have to be the issue - just look at the straight up quality disparity. I honestly don't see how this is a debate.
