Bass guitar identification

My dad recently passed down to me an old bass he purchased and anywhere from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. While the bass is almost identical to a Fender Jazz precision in red and white, there is no means of identification except for the wording 'ranger' on the head. The guitar would have been purchased in Australia.

Cheers, Mattie

Like this? Google says "[The Ranger name] was used on budget Japanese guitars probably built by Kawai in the late 60's or early 70's."
