1x12 Cab

Greetings to all!

I have a Crate v212B that I am going to sell because the bevels on the corners has ripped some significant paint off of my car the past few weeks of gigging. What are your recommendations for a 1x12? I'm looking at the Ibanez TSA Cab that has a Celestion Seventy speaker in it. Any other good recommendations? I would only like to spend $200 before tax.

Thanks!
-Evan

get something plywood, and then swap the speaker to something decent.

i dunno how cheap it is in the USA but the vht one is pretty cheap in europe. the jet city one can be pretty cheap too (but i haven't tried it).

Jet City cabs are cheap, plywood, seems decently built, works both open and closed back and speaker is not half bad after breaking it in.
Color scheme and logo are ugly though.

Mind you, my opinion is all based on home use though.

i'd cruise around local stores looking deals. i found a crate 1x12 with V30 in it for 100 bucks. i sold the V30 for 80 bucks and stuffed the 1x12 cab with one of my speakers (G12M-25, C90, 1228K, etc).

also found an old film projector cab with an old jenson alnico 15 watt speaker, 125.

if you have patience you can find some real good deals on 1x12 cabs.

^^ yeah the jet city stock speaker isn't terrible for a cheap speaker, if you like vintage 30-style speakers- it's better than the vht one, i'd say. it just depends on what you can get cheaper. as gumbi says, you can often get good deals on cabs, too, so it's worth keeping an eye out.
