This x1000 I want an OR15 so bad. Also, a Way Huge green rhino, old Rat, Ditto Looper, Ampeg V4, Peavey VB-3 (love these, sexy bass amp), cherry burst Ibby S Series of some sort, 5153 mini and a Parker Fly Mojo. I kept it limited to things I see in my nearish future. edit: minus the parker... |

I should be content; I just bought two guitars in the past two weeks. But I really want one of these:
PRS Santana.

i will just make this short and simple and all will be purchased in 2013.
Gibson V (preferably black) Gibson SG std (i have two, one is in C#std/drop B with dual emg 81's and is bastardized), the other is 11/400) Ibanez Prestige RG hopefully i can find a 2520 or similar for a reasonable price (it would be my fourth prestige and need it for a different tuning). ESP Viper if i can find the right one for the right price NOT positive. however most of you know i will probably pick something else up as well and i get side tracked easily. i am directing more money toward pedals this year. i do want to pick up a k-tre, tremoverb, and budda superdrive, also potentially a krank revolution+, but again who knows.

About the only guitar I absolutely and truly want is a SRV signature series Stratocaster. I even just signed up to win one. I also want a Taylor 12 string acoustic.
That said, I can usually go to any store selling instruments, and find at least 10 guitars I want. God help me if I ever win the lottery and build a studio like I want. Though I may be doing the latter anyway, looking at some property to build a house on, and I intend to set one room up as my studio. |

Yeah. Its not about being different on purpose, either. I've tried out the usual suspects- Fenders, Gibsons, etc., and didn't care for most of them. Don't get me wrong: there are mainstream guitars I would add to the collection- I would kill for a reverse firebird with 3 HB like the guitarist in Rival Sons- but they don't reach me like those on the list. Quote:
Yep- I have that list in the Notes app of my iPod Touch and iPad2. I had to edit it before posting, though- too many characters. I had to cut out some of my notes about why I wanted certain guitars... And none of the basses, amps (except the Orange) basses or other instruments (theramin, harpejji, etc.) made the list.

What I have:
Ibanez GRGM21 Mikro (first guitar) Jasmine by Takamine S35 (first acoustic) PRS Tremonti SE (most recent addition) Line 6 Spider IV 15 (first and only amp) Line 6 FBV MkII What I want: PRS Tremonti (platinum and/or charcoal burst) PRS Tremonti SE Custom (I passed up on it over the Tremonti SE because I wasn't sure how much more maintenance the trem arm would add, plus I haven't tried it) PRS SC250 Mesa Boogie F-50 Mesa Boogie Dual/Triple Rectifier (probably will get the dual, I don't need the 150W) Line 6 POD HD4/500 (trying to decide whether or not I'll need the 500 further down the line) A better acoustic. I'm trying to decide whether I should get the F-50 or the POD. The thing that caught my attention about the POD was the Dual Rectifier setting, but I'm concerned over whether or not I'd be better off putting out a little more money for the F-50 and how good the POD will actually sound. I'm also planning on doing some covers, so the POD would be useful for recording audio. Suggestions? My list isn't very long since I've only been playing a year and there's not much opportunity for me to get out to local stores (there's not many here on Oahu anyways) and try stuff out, so I have to look at what the bands I like use. Yea I've gathered that you're more interested in the obscure. That's cool, personally I'm a bit of a Fender nut but there's lot of lesser known guitars that are beautiful. I do worry a little about ease of resale with them which is silly but it is a concern. I am looking at amps too. I'd like to try a Deluxe Reverb. They are expensive and the clean on my Super 60 is just something else, but the gain isn't the best. So if it can match the Supers clean with a better gain I may have to look into it more. I have a Laney VC50 that Tom recommended me. The clean is okay but the gain and overdrive are really cool. But I'd like a natural Fender overdrive that sounds great. I do normally use fuzz pedals but there's something about a good Fender gain. So I have a great clean and a great overdrive on two separate amps, and I have an a/b box but it's hassle. I always ask this and I rarely get answers because the Super is a bit of an unknown amp. Has anyone played the Super 60,how would you compare it to a Deluxe Reverb?

It's not that I started off interested in the obscure. When I was looking for my first electric, I was spoiled for choices. I'm in the Dallas area, so I could basically find any Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Gretsch PRS, etc. I wanted. But I couldn't find a guitar that felt good in my hands, looked good to my eye, and fit my budget. So I had to look online. There, I found Dean guitars, and I wound up with an EVO and my TC Cadillac. And I kept looking- both at websites and at music videos. About a year later, I went to my first guitar show. It was a lot like my first shopping experience: lots of stuff to see, but nothing for me. The last booth at the show was the only guy ding his own thing- Jon Kammerer. Aesthetically and ergonomically, it was a revelation. I'm at 5 and counting of his guitars. There ARE mainstream guitars I'd buy. Its just that they're lower priority for me right now.
