I usually drive within about 5-7 miles of the speed limit. Insurance is high enough as a young driver, and my dad would probably kick me off his insurance if I got a ticket. Also, I have enough problems without a speeding ticket. Also, I don't like dying, and speeding obviously ups those chances. It's different on the highway, though. I usually try to keep it under 75-85, though, all depending on the conditions.

This, when I passed I was a little pussy bitch with the speed limit now I just view it as a rough guide.

As long as you aren't miles above it most police don't care, I sat in front of a police car doing about 40 in a 30, he was just sat behind me at the same speed.

I was trundling along at 76 today and a panda car cruised passed me doing about 85ish. Didn't bat an eyelid. 85mph is kinda the accepted speed limit.

Unlike most of my friends, I hardly ever speed. Usually I stick to the speed limit, or go around 5 mph over. Freeways are a different story; everyone speeds on those.

I've always thought it was understood that 10 over was kinda the reasonable limit.

That said, I tend to hate the way most other people drive.

Theres a difference between speeding like a normal person and speeding recklessly. If you don't know how to drive than don't speed. Easy squeezy.

I have no problem going 20 over if I have an open road. It's not me being impatient or reckless, I always drive at a comfortable speed. I never speed up or slow down very fast though, I gradually get up to speed.

Also going over 130 most cops won't chase after you. The ones that do though look like normal state troopers but have special cars that can top 200. (not talking about me, someone I know)

I always just go with the flow of traffic though. Those people who swerve in and out of lanes going 20 MPH faster than everyone else can go **** themselves

My experience with Philly and rush hour is more like 10-15 mph if you are lucky.

tbh, I don't know why I put "rush hour" in that post

It doesn't even make sense

I don't go over 5 mph above the speed limit, if anything I'm under, I'm not really in a hurry ever.
