I love 335's. I don't like this guitar. It looks unfinished and rather cheap looking. A real 335 stands out from across the room.

With a neck pickup this might be a winner, especially if they brought back the control cavity route for all the people who just want to buy cheap and swap pickups. But with no neck pickup it’s just missing the point.

In short: meh. I love the sound of a real 335, I wouldn't touch that thing with a ten foot pole.

And I agree with the comment that it looks cheap looking. It looks like it should have 'First Act' on it or something, and be sold for $50 at Walmart.

I guess I have weird taste, because I still really like it. I've always been a fan of the minimalist 1 pup Gibson guitars. I guess it's my gain, though, because a low demand will probably drive the price way down. But that new Nighthawk thing is pretty cool, as well.

maybe at the end of it's life cycle. They'll still be expensive, or at least overpriced for what they are, when they first come out
