I have decided I want one or the other and would just go with the Yamaha FG730s because there is only $20.00 differance in price.But I really like the Oceon or orental blue that is available on the FG720S.But I do not want to get wrapped up in looks.So if the FG730S is better because of the Rosewood back and sides I will for get about the nice looking blue.

I have heard it is a venere and it really does not matter.But I want to make sure and besides the Cherry Red burst available on the FG730S looks nice also.

it is veneer, and the wood underneath the veneer is the same wood according to my yamaha rep, although he wouldn't tell me what wood it is.

i thought the fg730 had a mahogany neck, but as of today the big stores don't list the neck material (they used to) and yamaha lists the neck as nato, same as the 720.

Sounds like I might as well save some money and go with a FG700S if that's the case?

i can't explain why, considering they seem on paper like the same combination, but the 700's i tried didn't sound as warm as the 730's. can you try them in store to compare?

I was going to order from Kraftmusic they have the best deal.Closest store with a 730 is 40 mile.

I went with the FG730S in Cherry Burst and could not be happier with it.
