Tell me I suck...

if you're so inclined. (Many are). New song. It sounds old though.

I don't know who those "many" people are but this doesn't suck at all. You are a great singer and have an ear for some sweet ass harmonies man. The lyrics fit and flow together well. The song is well written all-around. The only thing I would change would be the repetitive lead guitar riffs. Perhaps you could use some lead mixed in with some chords to accent/harmonize with the bass? I dunno. I do like the song though it's like Queen-epic in its own way. It also helps that it's a super clean recording.

EDIT: Would you mind critting mine? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1586031

Thanks. I was being somewhat facetious. You know how it is -- anyone who puts their music out there is putting their head on the chopping block and there's always somebody who will take a swipe at it.

Haha oh I didn't realize. I agree. There will always be some naysayer. Anyway, would you mind critting mine whenever you get a chance? Thanks.

You suck.

nah, that was great. Predictable but really nice anyways. The lead was kinda Steve Howe like, but distorted. Nice voice for sure

great song! ... not a fan of your rhythm section though. the bass/drum lines are awkward during the verse; the drummer hitting the toms to the bass arpeggios doesn't work. so hide the bass in the mix more, during the verse (ala mama i'm coming home) and tell the drummer to stfu at that point is my critique : ) otherwise i'm a big fan.

Thanks. Actually, I am the entire rhythm section. lol So, I never have to argue with anybody. : ) I do take critiques to heart, though I do like that part, so I'd say that's a judgment call. Strictly a matter of taste.

It does sound old, but in a good way. You definitely managed to nail the aesthetic. Your voice suits it quite well.

I'm not hearing the awkwardness suggested, so I'd say you're right in saying it's a matter of taste. I actually think the drums are a big part of the vintage feel. Once the bass and the drums came in I knew exactly what to expect from the song. It's got just enough build to feel like it's going somewhere, which is nice.

If you'd like to check out some of my work and give me an opinion, you can find it here: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1585252
