Indie/alt rock EP - Chairman Mouse

Hey guys, I'd love it if I could get some feedback for this little EP my band put together.

All these tracks are live studio recordings. I'd really love to get an opinion!

'EP'? Not to belittle you guys but there's no way in hell you should be releasing this to anyone, it's not even demo-quality.

The guitar tone on the first song sounds like a swarm of bees flying into a high-voltage power line. The vocals wander in and out of the mix like a drunk guy trying to navigate a tricky bit of pavement. The drums appear to have been tracked in a bathtub, under the sea, using one of those 'record your own greeting' birthday cards.

....sorry, I just get a little bitter about the wanton abuse of the term 'EP' sometimes. Don't be afraid to call it a 'demo', because that's what it is.

Well, then I guess I should've said it was a demo.

Thanks for the criticism though, even if you were bagging on the sound quality instead of the music itself. I guess I should finally shell out some cash to get this stuff properly recorded, then.

I agree, muscially you guys sound pretty tight. Don't undersell yourself.

Listened to the 4 songs, the vocals are overall ok, in some parts its heardible out of tune, but ok since its a demo.

Drums and guitar in the second song are terribly weak at the pre-chorus part (3:12), mabye put some balls into the distortion, needs more bass and less treble, and more drums presence (much more snare, less hi hat) also i think it would be better if the guitar cuts of the power chords instead of letting them ring and fade out, sounds weak that way.

I liked the 4 intros though, they sound nice, specially when you play with the delay.

Try swapping out the flanger in the 3rd song solo and use a chorus+reverb if possible .

In the last song try adding a heavy hall type reverb to the intro distortion, that + the delay may actually boost the song.

Making it brief, you can polish up several details, but sounds good overall.

Nice job
