New Acoustic Techniques?
Just started an acoustic group with guitar (me), bass, and singer. I feel as if our covers are boring and need something new. Are there any unusual or interesting acoustic techniques I could try? Normally I just use different strumming patterns, incorporate they keyboard part of a song into the guitar part, etc. Thanks!

Experiment with different tunings (I know, PREDICTABLE!). Look up Andy Mcgee. That helped me increase my creativity. Or try this: Play a chord, then do some kind of finger tap on top of that chord. Let the chord ring, while doing a finger tap. By finger tap, I don't mean some Eddie Van Halen tap. Just a couple taps/notes to coincide with the current chord. It helps create more texture and/or richness. I know it's vague advise. But just try it!

Maybe Vicki Genfan's videos on Truefire? Acoustic Rhythm Guitar and 3D Acoustic Guitar.
