Great solid playing man
The solo was killer! So was the tone, but the gear speaks for itself. LOOKED LIKE DUST TO ME ON THE HEADSTOCK Really good rhythm and solo guitar man! ![]() http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1585306 All crits appreciated! ![]() -Jonathan

Amazing cover. Near perfect skills, and that solo was spot on, especially that elusive arpeggio. Outstanding work. Keep it up, man!

Obviously you've got some real skill at what you do, and it was a good cover, but may i offer some constructive criticism, i promise im not being a dick:
Objective crit: timing was off in places. Not really noticeable, but i kept hearing you play slightly behind the beat. Nothing to be ashamed of considering it's Dream Theater, just something to keep working on. Subjective: i like John Petrucci as much as you do, but does everyone doing DT covers have to use the exact same gear as the guy? I mean i get that it's top shelf stuff, it's just getting really old seeing people cover DT stuff with identical gear.

Thank you Ace for the crit & comment, When you cover a song, you try to play as much as you can like the original, and you also try to get the most similar sound too... for that, you should use as much as you can the same gear...(I know a guy that cover Brian May and he use a "penny" insted of pick just like Brian use )BTW, did you see my "The best of Times" solo cover with my Gibson LP? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1525997 |

I dont think that's the point of a cover. To me covering a song is putting your own style into it, your own sound; incorporating very subtle nuances of your playing into appropriate spots. Dont get me wrong, i have huge respect for what you do because i can't play that stuff (or i would have to practice for way longer than i would stay interested). The Best of Times Solo is more along the lines of what im talking about, at the beginning you made a couple rhythmic changes and its on a different guitar. Again, this isnt a negative criticism, just an observation.
