Guitar Aerobics (amazon) for technique building/practice.
any of the Hal Leonard beginner books. Youtube is your friend!

Another great resource for online learning is guitarlessons.com. It's a free website offering tutorials for Beginners to Advanced players. Very neat website. I would refer this and justinguitar.
