Is it worth paying 90 dollars for a used BOSS Super Chorus CH-1?
Some dude is offering to sell me a used Boss CH-1 for 90 dollars.
Is it worth?

what chorus tone do you want? If you like the sound of it then sure, but there are other chorus pedals to be had that are less than that new. In fact I just ditched my Super Chorus pedal for an EHX Small Clone, wicked different sounding chorus though

I want a fat type of chorus. Kind of the one that was featured in the Whammy XP100 "detune" preset.

well if you like the whammy detune function then play around with the boss chorus, both being digital chorus effects. Normally if someone said they want a fat thick chorus I'd say go analog, you might still want to, but try the pedal out if you haven't yet and see what you think. If I'm correct the Super Chorus is compared to the CE2 chorus ensemble from boss, an older chorus pedal of theres. The boss chorus ensemble sound is still considered to be a staple

I've seen that pedal new for 99$ and used for 65$. I'm not saying it's not worth but that guy is kind of scamming you.

No, if you want the detune type chorus, a conventional chorus will not satisfy you. And that price blows.

The GOOD Boss Chorus pedals are the CE-1, and the black label CE-2s. And those two are seriously good, some consider them to be two of the best Chorus pedals made. The rest are pretty meh, nothing particularly special.

Damn that deal really blows. So, if I would like to have a Whammy detune chorus sound, what pedal should I get besides the actual Whammy?
Not some hand-made 400 dollar thing that you have to order from like Iceland or something like that.

There really aren't a whole lot of options, though I don't know why. The Neunaber Chroma Chorus does the same thing, but it's even more expensive than the Whammy ($225). A lot of rack units can do it as well, if you're willing to spend a bit more. Though if you go rack, you also get a ton of other effects, so it might work out to be the better deal.
