boosting solos - Randall RH150 G3
Hi all;
I have a Randall RH150 G3 head. Here is the manual that seems to cover it, though mine does not have the built-in digital effects. http://www2.randallamplifiers.com/i...-PlusManual.pdf I'm trying to boost my solos for jamming with a band without the kind of success I'm looking for. I have a BBE Boosta Grande clean-boost pedal. Putting it in line between the guitar and the amp input just drives the input harder but does not give me any more volume. I tried putting it in the effects loop. It does give me more volume there, but it sucks my tone out. I'm pretty sure it has to do with an impedance mis-match, as the effects loop seems to be line level and not instrument level. (though there are "volume" controls for send/return) I have an active DI box that might help with that, but I'm not sure if that's really the solution... Is there a way of boosting my volume without losing my tone? Thanks in advance! Chris

An EQ pedal could do wonders. Use it to boost your mids and tame some of the highs and you'll have a pretty good lead tone.

The EHX LPB-1 booster pedal is a steal for around 30 to 40 bucks and gives you a bit more warm low's which I love. You should give it a try

Hey thanks for the suggestions.
As it turns out, my problem turned out to be something silly.... after a good while of dis-use, the battery in my boost pedal was practically dead. I swapped out the battery and it was fine. :blush: I might get an EQ pedal anyways, though, just because. :-) Thanks again! CT
