What an idiotic question. Really.

I'll answer the Joy Division question; Joy Division were such an influential band, with Curtis being really electrifying on stage with his presence, the fits and the following they had. And with the impressive body of work they had they never had time to ruin it and their music is immortalised.

Would they be regarded in such high regard now? No. But it doesn't matter, that's what they were and that's why they're regarded so highly.

Without Ian Curtis Joy Division were New Order, who ended up releasing some very good stuff, followed hy some very poor stuff.

Personally, if someone writes something genius and then they go on to write mediocre stuff it doesn't bother me. I love the mid 60's to mid 70s stones, 90's Pumpkins. I would much rather be able to see Billy Corgan play Hummer and Muzzle along with some meh songs like I did last year than yearn to see him play and wonder after someone has died.
