NGD, one sexy beast
Strolled into the store today, saw they were having a sale and picked up this:
![]() Yum ![]() It's an Epiphone Emperor Swingster, and it's niiiiice ![]() It's $1300 normally, but I snared it for $850 ![]() The pickups are quite hot in my opinion (I've read elsewhere that they aren't but, each to his own) and the neck plays very smooth and nice. It goes quite bassy on the neck pickup but not toooo bassy, and the phase switching help to get a pseudo-single coil sound. Despite the hotness of the pickups, it clean up rather well, although my only complaint would be that it doesn't quite shimmer (but it's still pretty damn nice). The build quality seems fine, but it's apparently been on the store floor for a while so it's hard to tell what's from the factory and what's from careless hands Also it had this, which is nice but probably still means it's made in Asia somewhere: ![]() |

Where are you located for these to be priced at 1300$? They're 700 bucks around here o.O
Great catch nonetheless, Epiphone hollows are super excellent, I remember almost grabbing both a Casino and a Sheraton II years ago, and I actually should've instead of my Gretsch g5122. Looking very good as well!

Australia, the land of the overpriced stuff.
Buuuuttt, it's fine because apparently we earn a little more to make up for our ridiculous prices. |

either way, overpaying good stuff can be worth it. I paid around 1k$ for a pretty dinged mexican rosewood telecaster that still feels worth it to me, even though some guy wanted to sell me a deluxe tele for the same price ![]()

... ...really? ![]() EDIT: Oh yeah, OP, that's a sweet guitar, Epiphone semihollows no longer get the respect they deserve. People seem to forget that Gibson bought Epiphone precisely because their semihollows were beating Gibson ones. I hate almost everything else they make, but their semihollows are classy and awesome. Yeah, I bought it from Simplyben, He sold it to me for much cheaper (around 5 or 600), but then I got 250 bucks of shipping and I didn't expect the 250 bucks of import taxes
