Hard. I've tried soft, and it just wasn't for me. The yolk gets everywhere and the taste is just off. Probably because I was raised eating hardboiled.

Man there is so many factors.

If I want to eat en egg in a sandwich, I'd like it with minimal, to no yolk.

If I want an egg salad sandwich then I definitely want it hard boiled so I can make it properly.

If I want to eat just eggs (with toast, bacon etc) then I want it soft.

Or maybe I want it hard boiled and just eat it like that.

So many factors, I can't vote

Although if Im having fried egg and bacon in a sandwhich, then the yolk needs to be slightly hard, so it don't run out and drip onto the plate. A balance where it isn't hard yet runny

EDIT 2: cold hard boiled eggs are amazing
