Dean VMNT neck?

So a couple weeks ago, I picked up a parts V for $100. It's a ****ing awesome guitar. Alder body, Dragonfire pickups, and a Dean VMNT neck. I got it mostly to **** around on and to try out a pair of Dragonfires, as I'd heard great things about them.

I was ****ing floored at how awesome this guitar is. It honestly sounds JUST as good as my modded RR24, which I am now selling. The neck on it is absolutely the greatest one I've ever played on. It's wide, thin, but not too thin, and natural wood, which I totally love.

So has anyone ever played one of these? Are all Dean necks like this? What other ones are similar. I'd love to pick up another guitar with the same (or close) neck. Anyone have any directions they can push me in?!

Thanks!

I believe most Dean necks are unfinished. Deans do get a lot of hate on here, but I kind of dig a lot of their guitars. I used to have a ZX (Explorer) and it played pretty damn good. I could get some nice tones out of it, hell even some bluesy stuff, which surprised me.
I wouldn't mind owning a Dean V just to beat around.

I know most of them are unfinished, but I hear they're thicker. Is this true? Or is the VMNT pretty true to the Dean name?

I never played the VMNT (I despise Mustaine) so I really can't say about it's neck compared to other Deans.
I can say that the Deans I've played have had pretty nice necks.

Ha I have no love for Mustaine either. Megadeth on the other hand...

Anyway, I'm picky with necks. I guess I'll just have to head to a guitar store and jam it out.

I assume DBZ has similar necks to Dean because its a company started by same person who created Dean. But then again assumption is usually mother of all... You may want to check them out however.

I've got the neck-thru one, and it's a painted neck on mine at least, silver to match the body. It's fairly flat with a "D" profile, with a 16" radius. The lower-end model is a bolt on IIRC, and while I'd assume the necks are similar if not identical, I can't say with 100% certainty.

Yeah I have the lower end model neck on mine. I guess it HAS to be since it's on a different body.

Where could i try a DBZ by the way? They don't exactly sell them at most guitar stores!
