I don't really cringe when I think of my middle school/high school self. I know I'm an interesting person but I must've seemed quite boring to others. idk I tried to be nice to everyone (still do) but didn't act overly social either so that no one really knew me then. I do this to an even larger extent now, actually.

Went through some kind of half emo phase when I was 13, listened to nothing but Bullet For My Valentine because I was trying to be super edgy and leik omg their name means killing a girlfriend!! After that I grew my hair out for 3 years without getting it cut once and wore band shirts everywhere. Started jamming with a couple of new people, changed my perspective, shaved my head into a mohawk, grew a full face beard by the age of 17 and never looked back.

I was at the library every single day. In middle school I lived right next door to one, and in high school I decided that they couldn't teach me anything so I cut class and hung around the main library reading or playing neopets.

I went straight from being the "christian kid" to way too creepy for eighth grade. Then I got braces and earned a reputation as the "militantly conservative" kid. I was fat this whole time.

Good end to the story because it ends with discovering how much I love guitars, starting on the football team and owning an AMG mercedes; so I really have no room to complain. I just get so mad because of all the chicks I missed while I was being an insecure, fat, asshole. I really piss myself off sometimes...

I used to be a conservative Christian. It's not like my parents influenced me, it was just a phase for me. Thank god I grew out of that crap.
I had my classic rock and metal4ever phase as well. Grew out of that too, but I still like them.
I used to be those people who had a severe allergic reaction to anything that deemed "politically correct" and thought I was too cool for "societal norms, man." But then I discovered empathy.

And if only I was a different person in high school to where I could have asked this cute tall red head to a date.
