Anyone remember Digitiser?
DISCLAIMER: This will only be relevant to UK residents of a certain age. Moc-moc-a-moc, Johnny Foreigner.
Digitiser was a computer games magazine that appeared on Channel 4's teletext service between 1993 and 2003. Reading Digitiser was always the first thing I did in the morning. At it's peak it had a regular cult readership of 1.5million viewers, far exceeding any printed games publication. But the games content was always secondary to the surreal humour, catchphrases and recurring characters. I'm hoping there are some old regulars on here I can reminisce with. -- Mr T was an advice columnist who always ended up warning kids to keep away from his bins. ![]() -- Zombie Dave was a games a commentator that only spoke in shambolic zombie-talk. His comment for Tomb Raider was: - "thrr brrrd wrrz thrr tttrrrdz."-- There was a pair of snakes that spoke in urban vernacular, basically being Ali G before Ali G was even a thing. ![]() ![]() -- And despite the obvious graphic limitation afforded by the ZX Spectrum style graphics, they were still able to rustle up some photo-realistic representations of famous characters. Such as: Stevie Wonder Morrissey Thom Yorke Phil Mitchellamongst others. All the classics. So, any of you skank-o-huss kids have the slightest clue what I'm talking about? Thanks for your time, - You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I remember it. It was great as it was free, if you don't pay for the TV license.

I don't remember this, but I do remember teletext. I'd always hit the wrong button and turn it on and then not be able to get rid of it.

Teletext is what we had before the internet, kids. It was technologically mind-blowing.
