Seven Deadly Sins - Games and Music

So I'm starting my Bachelor project soon, and I've planned a game with a narrator like in Bastion, but instead of speaking, sung as a rock opera. The basic gameplay is to be a jump and run hack and slash type.

The theme is the seven deadly sins, and I'm currently trying to think of gameplay themes to fit with them. So far I have:

Lust - Wind and other things that move you without your influence
Sloth - Molasses and tar that slow your movements

I'm still trying to figure out themes to go with Gluttony, Envy, Greed, Pride and Wrath. What do you think would fit to these sins?

Do all the sins have to impair your 'normal' gameplay? Because for wrath you might suggest a faster pacing and stronger attacks.

So is it like each sin has it's own level? Reminds me of Braid.

Wrath: everything you hit fights back way harder. EDIT: Everything you killed comes back.

Gluttony: You're fat and slow.

That's all I got lol

The idea is that each sin has a theme that reaches through their entire level. Of course that should be a form of obstacle for the player, and faster pacing and stronger attacks sounds like a good idea for that. I was thinking of putting Wrath at the very end, anyways, so him being a boss with a super difficult level and boss fight would be very fitting.

They're all supposed to be negative effects, right?

Pride - makes it difficult to see clearly
Wrath - Makes you inaccurate, but perhaps more powerful if there can be benefits?

Because in Braid it follows a guy as he navigates through his memories of a failed relationship, and the whole game has a theme of wanting to undo mistakes - which gives you the power to rewind. Then there's a level that has a theme of hesitation, where you have the power to slow down time, etc.

What does that have to do with the seven deadly sins?

For Gluttony, a simple one would be that you have to collect a large amount of items within a level before a timer runs out, or an energy meter of some kind depletes... maybe thinking too simply... Maybe the character has to make morally questionable decisions to amass a lot of these items to stay alive or keep going or something.

****ing cool idea for a game by the way.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Greed and Gluttony are somewhat similar; this theme might be better for Greed, maybe.

Oh, you mean having narration through gameplay? Yeah, that part is definitely influenced by Braid, but it's not exactly a new concept, and it's one that hasn't really been done very often.
The "new" concept is the part of having the narration of the game dynamically react to what you're doing and how you're playing - with rock songs.

I think it's more about how it makes you do things you don't really want to do.

My thought with lust is, it's an instinct, right? You can't control it. You can try to suppress it, but at the end of the day, everybody that has a form of sexuality has a form of lust, and it moves you in ways that aren't necessarily logical or rational.

This is the singer I'm thinking of for Lust, btw:

Greed could be fake loot that makes an enemy spawn when you go after it. But not all items though otherwise you'd just skip them all.
