Right, but CGCFAD isn't C, it's drop C. And the tuning =/= the key of the song. If it did, almost every song you've ever heard would be in E.

right guys i know that my theory is awful and my musical influences are mostly metalcore bands like Asking Alexandria, Motionless in white etc but would you please respect that i have only been playing guitar for 3 years and that on this forum i aint lookin for argument are any crap like that so yeah i might ask you for opinions on songs once in a while or questions about theory but please remeber you had to learn this stuff too once ! so all i ask for is good advice and help instead of arguments and crap like that !

Simmer down man, if you've only been playing guitar for 3 years don't come in saying you're this and that
. UG can be brutal to newbies.I;m actually trying to help you but I don't know what you should play if I don't know what key you're in.

As said, you did come into here saying you do all this and that and apparently that was all we needed to know. Basically, you have poor theory knowledge, so first you must realise that your guitar being in Drop C does not make everything you write in the key of C. I play in D Standard, and I've written pieces in every key, so telling us your tuning does not help, so let's break it down to basics. What chords are you soloing over? |

You might want to throw in some other chords to make the solo melody a bit more interesting.

I have to admit he has a point, your sweep has some mistakes in it, and some timing errors, I'd recommend practicing your sweeping and not getting angry when people question your technique, it's valid, you need to improve, and I'd recommend practicing all kinds of sweeps properly, not just three string patterns, I've actually worked in Hardcore before, and a lot of bands use that exact same sweep at the exact same speed, if you practiced correctly and practiced all kinds of sweeps, in two or three years you could be blowing doors off, you just need to get rid of the attitude and actually listen to feedback. |
