I only use MPH in driving games.

What about ye olde British way of measuring weight by stones?

Kinda feel like it probably isn't worth the expense. I mean, imagine a country size of the USA, replacing every single speed limit sign.

the switch could be much more gradual than that. first we could put km and km/h in smaller text on all new signs. then the feds could offer a tax break to states who put forward x amount of money towards replacing old road signs, again with the requirement, and the states could extend that towards counties. maybe after ten years the signs could put mph and km/h at equal status.

Or we could keep it at MPH since it makes absolutely zero difference

I seriously wish we all used metric. If the gov't decided to switch over, I would have absolutely no problem with learning it.

Jealous that he's too dumb to understand our system.

Miles per hour is objectively better. Nobody has any idea how far a kilometre really is. Not even the French.

hey, i don't disagree

the metric system makes calculations easy, but all of us carry calculators on us at all times so it doesn't matter. i personally find imperial wrenches more intuitive anyway... 1/2, 7/16, 3/8, 5/16, 1/4, etc

MPH and Height and Weight are all better when measured the American way.

the system we use right now is fine and i don't feel like learning another.

especially measuring weight in stone.
that's just laughable.

if we're going to change, just wait until i'm dead first.

i am a designer for a large company that produces green waste recycling products. there has been some disscusion around here from the upper powers that have never read a print in their lives that we might be switching to the metric system. what a pain in the ass that would be for a guy like me. all my charts i have on the wall, all my cad systems would have to be changed. not to mention when ever there is a discussion and some one asks me what the dimension on something would be i would have to remember to times all my inches by 25.4001 so i could tell them in metric. not to mention all the good ol'boys out in the shop welding this stuff up. if i tell them to weld something 304.8012 mm from the end of that tube, their going to say WTF. it would be a hell of alot easier to just say 1 foot. but hey, i guess all good things come to an end. i will sure miss you my feet and inches. we had a good run. now i have to quit my job becuase i am not mesurment Bilingual.
