How to Improve from Where I'm At Now?
So I obtained a free kit this past December from a friend, and with some fixing up, it became playable. I can keep time well, and have learned a bunch of basic time keeping beats in 4/4, 3/4, and 7/8. I've learned some decent fills in 4/4 and 3/4.
Any tips on what kind of fills I can attempt in 7/8? And where should I go from here? I'd like to learn techniques for jazz drumming (and more odd time signatures), but I don't know what sort of exercises to do on my own, and can't afford any sort of lessons. Help is much appreciated!
