Metronome help!

Hey everyone,
I've started to use a metronome to improve my timing and technique.
For example I have a three string sweep arpeggio that consists of 6 notes that are repeated, I can play this at 90bmp playing with crotchets and quavers but I can't seem to get my head around Semiquavers. I just end up loosing time and not knowing where to go. Might sound stupid but I find it really difficult to count these.

Any help guys? Sorry if I'm hard to understand.

Cheers

It's hard because the first note doesn't always land on the beat, so you need to have a really good "inner clock", and keep your fingers and pick moving in a steady semiquaver pattern, whilst tapping your foot to a steady crotchet.

The trick is keeping the beat steady otherwise it's pointless.

Try doubling the metronome speed (180bpm) so there's more clicks to cling onto. When this makes more sense, drop the tempo back to 90bpm!

I'm afraid I don't know what crotchets and quavers are. Could somebody put that in violist terms?

I'm from a little island in the North Atlantic.

The following is more accurate, though...
