happened to me when I was a kid. Same thing: a motorcyclist had an accident with a larger van.

Saw everything from a shoolbus with some close friends. Being 11 or 12 that time, we were really schocked and talked about it the whole day.

After a few months we sort of got over it. We can still remember it and we still talk about it from time to time, though.

No, you're right. Looking back, I disagree with my comparison. It's not about the difference between different parts of the world, it's about how society made you so damn soft that you get all emotional and shocked when you see a corpse. I just don't understand it.

Bicycle guy was ok, just a shoulder problem. Kinda think he might have cause the accident, he looked in his 70s. But ya know, no headgear on the motorcyclist so any crash can kill you.

And the other guy was a 24 year old who had had a heart attack when running and died. Feel bad for all these people's families.

Also illegal in the UK. Was it a proper motorcycle or a scrambler / pitbike? That's the usual stuff ridden by lid dodgers.

Time, basicaly.

It's not that the bad memories go away with time, it's just that as we gain more life experience and see more things that we'd rather not remember, the bad memories just don't seem so bad anymore.

For example, I was present when my Dad died, and to be honest, I spent a long time wishing that I could change that because every time I thought about my Dad it was hard not to picture that image of him laying dead on his bed. But then, when my Mum died a decade later it didn't affect me in anything like the same way, essentially the first event had hardened me up for the second event. But then, after my Mum died and I realised that it didn't affect me in the same way, It kinda helped to ease the way that my Dad's death had affected me and so now I don't feel as bad as I used to about watching my Dad die.
