What would be the optimal picking for this type of riff?

Ive been learning Slayer - Praise of Death and I have a question for this kind of riff:

A|--6---------------------6-----------------------6---------6----------6------
E|-----33333333333-----33333333333-------33333---33333--

How would you go about picking this do you think in the most optimal way? Im not sure if I should use straight alt picking where I down stroke on the 6th fret A string and then back UP on the 3rd fret E string? Or do you think it should be a down stroke on the 6th and then another downstroke starting the 3rd fret right after? (I know the tab comes out all screwy but you get the idea.)

EDIT: I should probably noted the tempo is at 202 bpm and those are a 8th note on the 6th fret going into 16th notes on the 3rd fret 6th string.

I'd alternate that. Do what feels natural to you though.

Ok, and also the notes on the 6th string are palm muted and the 6th fret on the A isnt, so should I be lifting my palm to hit that one note every time or ?

Yes you should. Also since the 6th fret notes I would personally say alternate pick everything on the low E and downpick then notes on the A string; you keep the rhythm in your hand much more consistent that way.
