The question is where the money spent on pandas would go otherwise. It's not certain it would go to conservation of other species (I don't know who/what funds this). It's a fair point to question the priority of pandas over other species, but that doesn't make here a dumb bitch.

The world has changed so much that I really think they're just at the head of a list of animals that are going to die off. It's sad, but the world is becoming less and less habitable for anything buy humans, and that will pass eventually as well.

A lot of money is spent trying to preserve a species that hates other members of the species and is only eligible for mating 72 hours of the year.
I don't think it makes anyone a dumb bitch to question whether the effort and funds spent on trying to preserve a species that is largely symbolic is better spent on other species we can do a lot more for and are a lot more important to the world. |
