Weird squeal?
Hi, I'm actually not a guitarist, but I am a musician and I love music.
Now, when listening to some j-fusion (japanese jazz fusion) I stumbled upon this sound I quite haven't heard yet from any guitarist. And I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on what it is. =http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cURqQ0ARe14 The beginning of that song =http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SinK5HBopwE And at 3:13 of that song It sounds to me like it's just a normal note at first and then suddenly it just jumps up over an octave higher, maybe it's a pinch harmonic that gets slid up a bunch of frets? Links are forbidden for some reason, most likely a tapped harmonic at the 12th fret note. Eg, hold 3rd fret note, tap 15th fret swiftly, note jumps an octave.
 ED: for over an octave use a different harmonic node. |
