I would have thought differently, but there is at least some evidence that even regular use has little to no effect on the child.

Based on that I would suspect that occasional, limited intake to overcome pregnancy nausea is not likely to be harmful.

I have no doubt there are contrary opinions available.

Seems pretty stupid, I can't imagine it's good for the child. When it comes to substance use when pregnant I'd say that erring on the side of caution is the far better option: ruining someone's life so that you can be slightly chill for an evening is pathetic.

What would you suggest women use as an anti-nausea drug? What are the potential risks of it?

Or should they just 'tough it out'?

What if the nausea makes them incapable of consuming adequate nutrition?

I was always given to understand that anything you take/smoke/eat will end up in the baby's body. So, you shouldn't smoke anything, take drugs (other than medications in small doses prescribed by your doctor), and eat lots of sugary foods.
