Tech Death Questions

Hey all,

I'm still in the power chord warrior stage in my guitar playing and I'm trying to amp it up with some licks but I can't seem to find any techniques or tutorials on where to start with this? I'm into brutal death metal or tech death, whichever is easier to relate to. I would say brutal death is easier to play but it still sounds a lot more technical than what I'm playing. Is there any step I could take that would advance my playing? To give an example as to how bad I am I can play a lot of Six Feet Under songs. My goal would be to keep up with a Dying Fetus song but that's just ridiculous right now :X

Throw your pointy guitar away, learn the blues.

Ignore the above post.

Read the technique sticky that Freepower posted in this forum. Keep learning songs while making sure you're playing with good technique (relaxation, economy of motion and practice SLOWLY).

That should get you started and give you plenty to do.
