Where can I buy something to protect my tubes?

I've got one of the older Peavey Classic 30s and it's unprotected and tends to rattle at higher volumes, which is a problem for me as I play live and do some home recording that needs it to be loud. Playing live also means transporting the amp, and it's been fine so far, but you never know.

I'm gonna be replacing all of tubes soon, so I figured I might as well buy a tube protector cage thing. I know on the newer PV 30s that they have some sort of cage/tube tamer type things that solved this problem and I'm wondering where I can buy this? I've already seen Tom's Tube Tamer on Ebay, but I'm wondering if I can get those cages that have the foam thing already like what the newer Peavey Classic 30s have.

NOTE: Is Eurotubes the only place that has full Retube Kits? This is my first time shopping for tubes and from what I can tell, $80+shipping seems like a good deal for buying a full set. Is there any other place that does this for that price?

Are you talking about the tube damper rings? they have those at eurotubes also.

You can buy any tubes you want for your amp. Eurotubes sell only JJ tubes.
www.tubedepot.com
www.thetubestore.com
are just a few others that have good selections of tubes. They will also put "sets" together for you if you email/call them

+1 the silicone dampers are $5 I think and Eurotubes' support is awesome. And the tubes arrive in a few days...very quick shipping.

The picture of the top half is mine:unprotected. I want protection like the one on the bottom, which I believe to be 2nd version of this amp. As you can see, the bottom picture has a cage and some kind of foam thingy under the tubes to keep it from rattling. I'm wondering, where can I get this? I checked the Peavey website, but I couldn't find it.

Ah damn, yea I saw these, but I don't know if I'd be willing to spend $50 for it. I mean, if that's the only way to go about it, then that's fine, I'll just buy it later on.

Oh I just saw these too. I wonder, would I need to buy them for power tubes AND preamp tubes or can I just buy them for the power tubes? I'm just trying to tame the insane tube rattling I get.

It's most likely the power tubes with the filament rattle. My 5150 came with 3 of 4 rattling to various degrees. Dampening does help and I use the Eurotubes rings but only after swapping in a new set of JJs.

Make a panel out of some fairly open perforated steel or aluminium and screw it into place over the opening at the back. You may have to do some folding at the top edge to fit some screws but if you get a bit inventive I'm sure you can come up with something. You're just trying to stop foreign objects hitting the tubes are you not? Forget shields and attack the cabinet instead.

+1 this would be my solution.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll see what I can do with the back part. I just wanna be able to stick my amp in my car's trunk without worrying about my tubes getting wrecked (I am a hectic driver :p)

I remember walking onto a dealerships service lot around back... 60% of the cars needed rims/tires. Hardcore I hit a curb at 50 while drunk type bends...

Don't drive after midnight.
